A few words from the 2014 National American Miss Pennsylvania Melessie Clark

My year as your National American Miss Pennsylvania has been nothing short of amazing. After capturing the Teen title in 2012, I was so honored to represent my state for the second time as your 2014 Miss Pennsylvania Queen. I had such a wonderful time at Nationals in Anaheim, California where I was reunited with my sister queens and friends I have made throughout my years with NAM (aka my NAMily)! I was so honored to have won several awards, including the National American Miss National Actress and Talent titles. Topping off the exciting week, I placed 2nd Runner-Up to the National American Miss title! I surely made memories that will last a lifetime. National American Miss has provided me with many wonderful opportunities. During my year of service, I had the privilege of singing the National Anthem at several prestigious events, including my alma mater’s annual Veteran’s Day ceremony. I continued to promote the importance of giving back by participating in my alma mater’s hip-hop d…

What an Amazing Year for Miss New Jersey Princess!

One year ago, I took my very first steps on the NAM Stage. I would have never guessed I would be crowned your 2014-2015 National American Miss New Jersey Princess. When I heard my name called, I knew I won, but I didn’t really understand what I had just won. Yea, I knew I won lots of cool prizes, but I didn’t know what it meant to be your New Jersey Princess Queen. I mean hello, I was only 6! I don’t even think my mom knew what I just won.
Meeting my sister queens and their families for the very first time, will always be remembered and cherished. It was about a month after our crowning and about a week before my birthday and they surprised me with the American Girl Doll I wanted! Isabelle, the Girl of the year. At that very moment, I knew what the word “Namily” meant. My family just got bigger. My Sister Queens have been amazing role models and I couldn’t have chosen a better group of girls to experience my first year of pageantry with. Every time we are together, whether it is a f…

This year flew by so fast and I can honestly say that this has been the best year of my life! NAM has given me so much confidence and taught me so many life lessons. I want ALL of this years contestants to know that this will be one of the best experiences you will EVER have no matter the outcome! You are ALL already winners and I hope you remember to smile, make new friends, and have FUN! I was also able to visit a Homeless Shelter, build a wall for Habitat for Humanity, travel to libraries across New Jersey to read to kindergarteners, make appearances in Parades, help with open calls and training sessions and was visiting royalty in Connecticut and Massachusetts!
