|The 2010-2011 National American Miss Texas Jr. Teen and National American Miss Jr. Teen Kimberly Jester!|
I can't believe it's been one whole year since they called MY name as your 2010 Miss Texas Junior Teen. And what an exciting year it has been! With my family and friends by my side, and the Lord as my guide, I've been able to accomplish so much! Whether it's been helping to raise money and awareness for Living Water, International; collecting and donating coats and blankets for the Salvation Army; or helping to feed to Houston's homeless, I'm the one that has grown and been blessed by this wonderful experience.
In November, I travelled to Nationals where I had a magical week. Spending time with my dearest friends (they know who they are!) was something I'll cherish forever. Just when I thought my week couldn't get any better, it did: They announced MY name as the new "national" Junior Teen queen for 2011! Now six months later, I still sometimes think I'm dreaming, and can't believe I won! But the many wonderful things I've experienced since that night, and relationships I've made, remind me that God had a hand in it all, and I'm ever so grateful for this opportunity to serve and lead with National American Miss.
To the Mayes and ALL the NAM staff, thank you for being visionaries and for offering girls like me something altogether different in pageantry. To the contestants, remember: God made you to fulfill a very specific purpose in life, and so while there can only be one queen chosen here this weekend, don't be discouraged if it's not you, because He has a wondrous plan for your life, too!! It's far more important to have fun, make new friends, and learn important life-long skills that will benefit you forever.

Dear Contestants and Families:
Wow! What a year I have had. I have been here in Houston many times, competing just like you. Winning the crown for the first time last year was an Amazing experience. God has a plan for each and every one of us. This year I have gotten to make several appearances as the Texas Preteen Queen. I helped at “Dress a girl around the world”, where we took ordinary pillowcases and made them into beautiful dresses to give to little girls all over the world who had none. I volunteered at the Houston Rodeo with my Mom and Dad, and I helped with Texas Open calls. I was also in several parades in our area.
Nationals was a Blast!! Disney was fun, Hollywood was Amazing, and California was just Awesome!!! I have made so many new friends and was able to hang out with many of my old friends. I Won 4th runner up Casual Wear and 2nd runner up Most Promising Model. It was a Great Experience!!
I would have never been able to do this without the help of my Family, Thank you all for supporting me and loving me always. Thank you Mrs. Candice and Mr. Brett for loving me like I was your own, Miss Alyssa for our skyping!! Miss Ravayna for my hair at State!!! Kaydianna and Shelbie for being my friends and being there when I Won!! I Love you All!! Thank you to Jill’s Fashion for my beautiful dress!! Thank you Mrs. LaKishia for all your support!! Thank you Miss Tiffany for being there for me during my journey!! Thank you, Kathleen and Steve Mays, for creating a wonderful pageant system that has molded girls into poised, intelligent, and confident young women, to do Great things across the Nation. To all the National American Miss Staff – My Namily, I can’t thank you enough!!
Girls, regardless of who wins the crown, use what you have learned this weekend to make a difference. This weekend make sure you:
· Dream Big, and Believe in Yourself

Please stop by and say Hi. I am looking forward to meeting all of you!!!! I wish you all the BEST!!

Wow! It seems like yesterday when I heard my name announced as the winner. It’s been a productive and fulfilling year for my reign. Our local newspaper made a nice article about me. I got to meet our Mayor and the city council, Congresswoman Veronica Gonzalez, and the reigning Texas Teen Danielle Doty. They all said they are proud of me. Wearing my crown and title with pride, I had fun doing parades and volunteering for different organizations. The highlight of my reign was the Nationals in California. Boy, did I have a blast! The 1970’s party, meeting new friends, Red carpet awards, thanksgiving banquet, Hollywood tour, the Disney adventure, and Oh! I almost forgot…the wiggling and finally losing my front tooth! Ha! Did my mom almost passed out because of that! With or without my front tooth, I worked myself in the Nationals to make my state proud. I got the National Actress award, the Spirit Award, runner-up in Most Promising Model and best Resume, then finally, Top Five – where I got 3rd runner-up overall! First and foremost, I would like to give praise and thanks to our Lord for all the continuous blessings he showers upon me and my wonderful family. Tatay & Mommy, - thank you for your unending love and support. Not to mention your checks! My sister LeAnn, you’re my BFF and I could never ask for any other in this whole wide world. My brother Axel, you’re the best escort a pageant girl could ever ask for, and you’re the best dude in this universe! Thanks to Steve & Kathleen Mayes and the NAM staff for giving us young girls the opportunity to shine and show our talents and potentials. My sister queens, good luck to all of you. To my successor, first, give thanks to the Lord and I have four words for you --- Have Fun and Enjoy.
Always dreaming big, I am Asia Kayla Divino, your 2010-2011 National American Miss South Texas Princess.
