Featuring National American Miss Teen Michaela Jacobs!

I am Michaela Jacobs! However, as of July 5, 2015, I became known as Miss Florida Teen 2015! I am a recent high school graduate, an avid bibliophile, a seeker of new opportunities, and a lover of adventure. My most recent adventure being an indescribable year of service as not only the National American Miss Florida Teen but also the 2015-2016 National American Miss Teen! Having never competed in a pageant of any type before last summer’s state competition, when my name was announced as the 2015 Miss Florida Teen, I knew I was in for a wild ride. Throughout my year of reign, I have continued my volunteer work with the Ronald McDonald House of Northwest Florida, I have spoken with a plethora of school groups about the importance of dreaming BIG and working relentlessly to achieve your goals. I have met with a great number of my state and city political leaders to share the incredible work that the National American Miss Pageant has done in my life and continues to do in the lives of young women across our country. In addition, I was able to ride in parades across the Gulf Coast with my beautiful sister queens and make memories I will cherish for a lifetime. Competing at the National Pageant in Anaheim, California was truly a dream come true. Claiming the coveted National Teen title was truly “icing on the cake,” as I was able to leave Nationals refreshed and inspired by each of my fellow Teen State Queens, two of whom grew to be dear friends of mine and were even crazy enough to fly to the Sunshine State for a weekend to attend my senior prom! (‪#‎INandOHtakeFL‬ !!!!) My year has been composed of memories upon cherished memories. It truly takes a village, and to everyone who has been a part of mine, the crown I wear is yours. This is not the end of my story, but rather the close of a beautiful chapter.
To each contestant as you plunge into competition this weekend, know your intrinsic value. The crown and banner one lady will walk away with does not define her. Do not believe for a moment that it will define you. You are beautiful. You are exceptional. You are daring and brave. You are worth it. You truly are National American Miss! I cannot wait to PARTY with each of you! Get ready for the weekend of your lives! Have a camera ready, you will want to document every second! I love each of you already!!!
To the precious parents of each competitor, thank you for believing in your daughters. Although they might make you want to pull your hair out at times this weekend (I know my mom might have… Haha!), cherish each moment with them. This is their time to truly shine and embrace their individuality. Most will be heading off to college soon, these are moments you will remember long after they have left your side… Thank you parents for allowing your daughters to take part in Pageant Weekend!
My best wishes go out to each of you, girlies! Good luck!

With all of the ‪#‎NAMnfl‬ love!!!

Featuring Miss Florida Pre-Teen Alexa Johnson

There were only two of us left on stage. My heart was pounding and my legs were weak. Then it happened. I heard my name, Alexa Johnsen, announced as the winner. Everything seemed to be in slow motion as the beautiful crown was put on my head and the banner draped over my shoulder. I couldn’t believe it. My dream had come true. I was the new Miss Florida Pre-Teen!

Throughout my reign, I have done so many fun and exciting things and met so many wonderful people. Competing in nationals tops the list. What an incredible experience. I learned so much about myself during that exciting, exhausting, fun-filled, stressful, fabulous week! I have been in parades, spoken to rotary groups and my school about my platform, plastic marine debris and celebrated literacy week by reading to kindergarteners. And, one of the very best things that has happened this year, is that as an only child, I can finally say I have sisters – my fabulous sister queens! Our bond will never be broken.
As this year comes to an end, I’m filled with gratitude for the love and support I received throughout this incredible journey. I’d like to especially thank my mom and dad for their never-ending love, support and guidance. Without them, this dream would not have been possible. I’d also like to thank Miss LaLishia for being the best director ever. She added the magic to my reign. And finally, I’d like to thank my friends and ‘NAMily’ for helping me believe in myself. I have had the time of my life!

Featuring National American Miss Jr. Teen Brianna Smith

Thank you to Brianna Smith and her entire family for representing so well. Brianna not only won Miss Florida Jr. Teen 2015, but she also captured the coveted title of National American Miss Jr. Teen 2015-2016. Here is a quick message from Brianna:
My name is Brianna Smith, I'm a 16 year sophomore student who enjoys reading, dancing, going to the beach and spending time with family and friends. I am a member of my school's soccer team where I play as a fearless midfielder. My year as the 2015 Miss Florida Jr. Teen began with lots of excitement. I was involved in festivals, Christmas parades, speaking engagements and had the opportunity to be interviewed by channel news 13 Infomas about my journey to the crown.
During my year, I was involved with the Ronald McDonald house where I provided meals to families in need, With Compassion International promoting awareness to end poverty, and Serene Harbor assisting in their mission to put an end to domestic violence. As a girl who was diagnosed with scoliosis, I know firsthand how difficult challenges can be. Nevertheless, I firmly believe that a positive attitude can help you overcome any obstacles you face. To think that in just a year I was able to make a difference in so many lives and empower others to continue working so passionately in what they believe is a dream come true.
Although my year as the 2015 Miss Florida Jr. Teen is coming to a close, I will always cherish the great memories, friendships and countless opportunities I have been blessed with. Through National American Miss, I have learned that life is not about the destination in which you are headed, but the memories that you make along the way.
To all the contestants, this weekend will be a memorable one, filled with so much excitement and perhaps the first time you step out of your comfort zone, just do it, Let the real you shine through and enjoy the moment. You are in for the most amazing experience. Take lots of pictures, create new friendships, challenge yourself at least once this weekend and remember you are already a winner! Keep in mind that good things come to those who believe, better things come to those who are patient, and the best things come to those who DON'T GIVE UP!
To the parents, your immense support towards your daughter's journey will allow her to experience things beyond her wildest dreams. I'm super thrilled to meet you all! Best of Luck!
