Meet Miss Pennsylvania Teen 2012

Welcome to the NAMily !
I remember my excitement arriving in Harrisburg four years ago to compete in my first NAM pageant!  I felt a bit shy, but my goals were simple…to “get my feet wet” and see if I liked pageantry.  You’re about to embark on a journey that will challenge you to grow by learning news things about yourself and build lifelong skills.  Developing self-confidence and interview skills through NAM enhanced my ability to serve in school leadership roles and excel in college and job interviews.
My time with NAM has been defined by my choices.  Being an active, positive, friendly and prepared participant  are all choices that you too can make that will make your experience most meaningful.  My active participation in the optional competitions enhanced my NAM experiences and I’m confident the same can be true for you.    Of course, success is accompanied by some disappointments,  and I chose to handle those by watching the winnners and using them as role models for my practice.  That approach paid off and I realized my dream in 2012,  becoming the NAM PA Teen!  Proudly representing Pennsylvania, I placed 1st runner up for the national title.
It’s true, “time flies when you’re having fun” and my time as the Pennsylvania Teen has been full of fun and opportunity, and allowed me to meet many wonderful people.
I applaud your decision to be here and look forward to meeting you!  Be proud of your acceptance as a State Finalist!  You’re already a winner!

Very truly yours,
Camille Schrier

Dear NAM North Texas Princess State Finalists,

What an honor it is to be writing this letter to you.  I have felt like I can help everyone and do everything since being crowned as the Princess Queen last July!  I have made some wonderful new friends that I am proud to call my Sister Queens.  Not having any true sisters of my own, it has been so great getting to know them all and I feel very lucky.
Representing NAM has been so much fun!  I volunteered with SPCA of McKinney, Community Partners of Dallas and The Dallas Furniture Bank.  It was exciting to learn so much about how important it is to help others and I left every time feeling happy.
The only thing that mattered to me when I heard my name called last year as the new Princess was that I knew I had tried my best and had been kind to others.
I wish the same for you.  Never give up and always try and do your best.  Act yourself and don’t try to be anyone else because you are who you are.  Never get mad or sad, just be happy for everyone else, and know in your heart you did the best you could.  Each one of you is just as beautiful inside as you are on the outside.
Good luck to you all!
Love,
Chloe

Miss Texas PreTeen for Division 1 has a had a BLAST Representing PreTeens!

Hello beautiful 2013 contestants,
Welcome to the NAM world of fun, excitement, laughter and a chance to build memories of a lifetime! Starting July 8th, 2012 when I was crowned Miss Texas Pre-Teen Queen, life has been a journey full of great experiences and chances that I could only dream of! The opportunity to be recognized and welcomed in society as a great role model, the numerous opportunities at participating in charitable events, parades, photoshoots, meetings with VIPs, opportunities to build and strengthen my character and self-confidence has been enormous for a shy and simple girl like me who has now grown into a true queen at heart. I love being a leader and a role model, and the opportunity I have got through NAM is just priceless!
The state pageant is only the beginning of a whole new journey filled with endless dreams that can come true with hard work, commitment and dedication. The life lessons learned and the friendships made are there with you wherever life takes you. I began my journey in NAM as an only child, but now I have a whole sisterhood of my NAMily wherever I go. That gives me so much happiness and pride!
I will be blessed to crown one of you lucky girls as my successor at the end of my reign, but my heartiest congratulations go to all of you who are winners in my eyes!
Always remember, the sign of a true queen is that she holds respect for others as highly as her crown!
Love and Hugs,

The 2012-2013 National American Miss Hoang-Kim Cung,Gives Encouraging Words to Future Contestants!

Dear Contestants,

It is hard to put words the effect National American Miss has had on my life. If I had to choose a quote that’s kept me motivated and determined it would be, “Success is not final and failure is not fatal. It is the courage to continue that counts.” Even though I had won my first state title of Miss Texas Junior TeenSMon my third try, I still had a lot to learn. Through the years, I have learned to be bold, courageous, and fearless.

Being the reigning National American Miss has given me the chance to use my voice to positively impact the world – whether it’s through my upcoming concert fundraiser for Vietnam Veterans’ Forgotten Children or social media where I can personally converse with girls who look up to me. My year has been filled with countless appearances around the country, but nothing is more priceless than seeing girls’ faces light up from the confidence they gain or belief they have in themselves after a quick chat or photo with me.

My individual success wouldn’t have been possible without a team. My deepest gratitude goes to my family for their sacrifices and unconditional love. To my bestest friends and my other half, thank you for always telling me I’m powerful. To the best hair and makeup team, Austin Ryde and Kara Knudsen, thank you for making me look absolutely flawless during Nationals. I couldn’t have asked for more a more charismatic, kind, and witty team to doll me up!

The growth I’ve experienced through NAM has helped me hone my skills as a reporter and anchor, prepare me for any obstacles I will face and I’m committed to making my dreams of becoming a morning news anchor a reality.

To all the contestants and my successor, my journey to this crown was just that: a journey. It takes dedication and perseverance to tread forward when doors close. Never stop chasing your dreams and remember, success is not final and failure is not fatal. It is the courage to continue that counts.

I will always and forever be your National American Miss TexasSM 2012, Hoang-Kim Cung.

What an Amazing Year for Miss Texas Jr PreTeen Jianna Garcia!

The moment my name was called as the 2012 Miss Texas Junior Pre TeenSM was the moment a dream three years in the making came true.
I was 6 years old when I first stepped on a NAM Stage. I was so very shy my parents were not sure I would actually do my introduction. By the time I set foot off the stage after finale I knew I would be back to try again.
Being a part of National American Miss has given me poise, confidence and so many opportunities and friends…..and more sisters then I could have ever imagined.
The experience of being Miss Texas Junior Pre TeenSM has been incredible. It was a true blessing to represent North Texas at Nationals. I had a blast at Disneyland with my sister, was reunited with the Truly Beautiful Miss Amanda and even got to see the stunning Miss Kim win the National Crown.
Back in Texas I visited our State Capital, continued my volunteer work with our animal shelter and fighting for a cure, kept up with my cooking blog, http://theprincessinthekitchen.blogspot.com/ and made appearances with my sister Queens. I also got to meet my Favorite Foodie Pageant Girl, Miss USA 2011 Alyssa Campanella.
As the North Texas Pageant gets closer I am excited to crown my successor and to her I say have fun, make a difference and keep dreaming big!
So Farewell for now, but never forever,

Jianna Garcia
