Pearland resident Kelsee Gosbee was honored as Fourth Place Winner in the Junior Preteen category at the American Miss Pageant held June 25 at Houston’s Galleria Intercontinental Hotel. She was also awarded the title of “Top Model” from a group of 113 contestants.
Gosbee will now move on to compete in the National American Miss Pageant to be held Nov. 18-26 in Hollywood Calif.
According to officials, contestants in American Miss Pageants are judged in a number of categories including personal introduction, formal wear poise and appearance and communications skills in an interview.
Pageant judges also scored contestants for their level of community involvement.
Gosbee’s service activites included working with children as a Promisland volunteer at New Hope Church. She also worked as a volunteer for Eagle's Lift Ministries.
Currently, she is committed to working as a Second Helping volunteer for Second Baptist Church and is planning to work as a volunteer at the Susan G. Komen Run in October.
The 10-year-old Silverlake resident is a fifth grader at Rogers Middle School. She is the daughter of Wayne and Amiee Gosbee.
The state-level competition was Gosbee’s first pageant experience.
